Gloucestershire Care Services

Overview

Gloucestershire Care Services (GCS) is currently the provider arm of NHS Gloucestershire (PCT). We deliver a range of services for adults, children, and young people to approximately 600,000 people across Gloucestershire including community inpatient and outpatient services, public health nursing, community nursing and therapy staff.  We have also recently taken over the management of the County’s adult social care services on behalf of Gloucestershire County Council. All our services are managed in an integrated way and are structured as multi-disciplinary locality based integrated community teams.

The community services provided by GCS are commissioned by NHS Gloucestershire Primary Care Trust for people registered with Gloucestershire’s General Practitioners and by the County Council for their local residents.

Gloucestershire Care Services workforce of 2,800 includes nursing, medical, dental, allied health professionals, support staff, administrative and clerical support staff.

Performance

The performance of Gloucestershire care services has been commended consistently by our health commissioner and we are meeting or exceeding almost all national targets and delivering consistently against more demanding local targets.
