The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, operates out of two hospital sites providing high quality and patient centred care to a large and diverse area of outer London containing Heathrow airport. We are a well performing Trust with an annual budget of approximately £190m. Care is delivered by the skilled and motivated 2,400 members of staff, in conjunction with partners in the local community promoting dignity, choice and good health.
2012 sees Hillingdon enter a new phase in its history and having acquired Foundation Trust status, in April 2011, is now seeking to appoint a new Chief Executive. With the upcoming reconfi guration of acute services in North West London, the Trust is seeking to expand services including emergency care and maternity, to a broader catchment area. Utilising the potential of the reconfiguration to develop the Trust, the optimal blend of expansion, divestment and partnership working with clinical commissioners will be the most critical strategic issues to face the Trust’s board in a generation.
As such, experience of operating at board level will be essential to deliver operational, financial and quality performance as well as the credibility and gravitas to build key internal and external stakeholder relationships. You will have led on complex change exercises and will have an excellent understanding and appreciation of the acute sector and delivering high quality care in a fi nancially challenging environment. As such you will develop and deliver a strategy that will enable the Trust to enhance clinical care and patient experience while realising the Trust’s potential in the local health economy and wider area. Politically aware, your excellent communication skills will provide the inspirational leadership that will enable the Trust to make a positive difference to the lives of people in the community ensuring it is fi t for purpose in an increasingly competitive NHS landscape.
