Birmingham Women’s is a high performing specialist acute trust, one of only two of its kind in the country. We are a centre of excellence both regionally and nationally, and provide a range of healthcare services
with a particular focus on women’s health and childbirth; our expertise in genetics, fertility, fetal medicine, minimal access gynaecology and neonatology is internationally renowned.
The strength and reputation of the Trust is embodied by our 1,500 staff who annually deliver 8,000 babies, good levels of patient care and, in partnership with several first-tier academic institutions, significant levels of
highly regarded research and development.
Consistently one of the best performing trusts in the country for infection control and with low waiting lists, we have recently been rated by the Care Quality Commission as fully achieving 4 out of 5 of the national standards. We have continued to grow and invest since successfully achieving Foundation Trust authorisation in early 2008, but now plan to build on our position as a leading specialist provider, while also exploring and exploiting new and entrepreneurial commercial opportunities.
With the imminent retirement of the current post-holder, the Board wishes to hire an exceptional and forward thinking Director of Nursing and Midwifery, with the ambition and leadership qualities to contribute fully to the Trust’s bold plans for development. As a candidate you will either currently be a Director of Nursing/Chief Nurse, or ready to move from a substantial and complex Associate DoN role to your first executive board position.
In either case you will have been instrumental in your organisation, achieving the highest levels of quality and performance and will be motivated by finding new and innovative ways of working. Already recognised nationally as a leader in your field, you will be attracted by this post’s high profile, the exposure and opportunity it brings, and the chance to work in an internationally renowned specialist acute trust.
