An interesting new opening has arisen for a Commercial Finance Manager at a leading NHS Foundation Trust to tackle an issue with existing contracts.
Reporting to the Deputy Director of Finance, you will be charged with reviewing the contracts that the Trust has in place regarding the provision of crucial healthcare services. Working in an autonomous capacity, the post holder will need to investigate the current situation to understand the issues behind the financial operation of the contract, before developing an explanation and a solution to the concern. Depending upon the causes, this could extend to the renegotiation of contracts. This is likely to involve liaising with a wide range of people internally and externally at a range of levels and is equally likely to incorporate strategic and hands-dirty work.
You should be a qualified accountant, or equivalent, with a demonstrably strong background in financial management where you have had to find solutions to difficult situations. Of particular importance is experience in the commercial management of contracts in an NHS environment. You will be a first rate communicator with the ability to help people understand issues and the ability to persuade when changes are necessary.
This is a high profile position and will offer a real challenge to someone who wants to tackle a complex issue in a forward thinking and positive environment.
