Practicus is currently partnering with a large NHS Acute Trust in the South East that requires an interim Adult Safeguarding Specialist.
The trust has a very small safeguarding team consisting of one individual but has had a business case approved to expand the safeguarding team by an additional two WTE covering both Adults and Children's. Due to sick leave the trust currently has limited support and requires an interim to provide the pivotal operational support needed to ensure the day to day running of the service is not affected.
The key responsibilities of the role will be to manage the day to day running of the service. This will include taking responsibility for between 5-7 alerts a week and working through a number of outstanding alerts and complaints. In addition a key part of the role will be to work alongside internal and external social care partners developing relationships across the borough. External partners will include Local Authority, Social Services and the safeguarding teams within the PCT.
The Trust is looking for someone who comes from an adult safeguarding background, ideally from within an acute environment. A nursing background may be beneficial when dealing with clinicians especially when building relationships. The successful interim needs to be charismatic and credible. Excellent organisational skills, self motivation and focus is key.
The client has availability to interview on Thursday 3rd May with a start date of Tuesday 8th May. If you have previous experience working within adult safeguarding please apply with an updated CV or contact Sian Williams on 01491 577122 to discuss.
