We are the largest teaching hospital and community trust in the South West and one of the largest in England with an income of £515m and employing 9,500 staff. In 2014 we will be opening a new, state-of-the-art £430m PFI hospital and are on track to become a Foundation Trust in December 2012.

The Chief Operating Officer will provide strong and inspirational leadership to our clinical directorates, based on a deeply held commitment to high quality patient care. The COO will also lead the implementation of large-scale pathway and service change as we move into the new hospital.

You will be a Director or Associate Director with substantial operational management experience in a large complex acute setting, with a successful track record of delivery. You will have evidence of creating and sustaining a culture of high performance and playing a major role in service improvement and transformation.
