UK Business Development Director - Alliance Medical Limited

Alliance Medical is Europe’s leading independent provider of imaging services operating across the continent – in the UK, Germany, Ireland, Italy, The Netherlands, Spain and Scandinavia.  Established in 1989, we provide a proven, scalable model, exceptional service, outstanding value for money and technical excellence.

In November 2016, Alliance Medical was acquired by Life Healthcare, a leading South African healthcare provider.  Life’s vision is to be a market leading, international, diversified, healthcare provider focused on delivering sustainable, high quality and cost effective healthcare.  Over the past few years they have expanded into mental health, acute physical rehabilitation, renal dialysis and oncology. Combining with Alliance Medical is a natural part of this diversification strategy.

Recent years have seen AML deliver against its strategy to provide a collaborative approach to imaging, placing patients, clinicians, NHS and independent providers at the heart of our service and delivering patient-centric services through supporting the delivery of over 650,000 scans in the UK.

We are looking to appoint into a senior business development role that will sit on our UK board.  The successful candidate will have significant experience within the UK health sector; this may include a substantial period of time operating at a very senior level in a complex health care provider (either independent or the NHS) or in an advisory / consultancy capacity engaging with board-level health sector peers. 

Accountable to the UK Managing Director, you will be responsible for setting the strategic direction of UK business development within a fast-paced, high growth business, in line with the overall strategy and priorities of Alliance Medical, defining annual and longer term objectives and agreeing plans to achieve them.

As a director of the UK business, you will ensure high standards of corporate governance, patient care and personal behaviour are maintained and will live the Alliance Medical values and ensure they are reflected in the way we conduct our business.

A deep understanding of the UK health sector is essential along with an existing wide network of senior level relationships and experience of developing and introducing new service propositions in partnership with healthcare providers.

This is a true leadership role, responsible for developing customer relationship management capability throughout our organisation to ensure we can develop effective and mutually supportive relationships with key partners.
