Regional Finance Director - South
Opportunity to be based at various locations across the South, with travel across the region and to London & Leeds.
NHS England leads the National Health Service (NHS) in England. It is our responsibility to continue to improve health outcomes for individuals, communities and society as a whole by investing the NHS budget strategically to ensure real value for money. With a very clear aim of obtaining the best health outcomes for people in England, we work alongside Providers, Commissioners and STPs to help them deliver outstanding healthcare across the country, monitoring performance and helping to guide strategy and investment.
It is an exciting time to be joining the senior finance leadership team at NHS England. The NHS Five Year Forward View, published in 2014 and refreshed this year, set out a compelling vision for the future and the 13 Sustainability and Transformation Partnerships across the South are now starting to implement their plans. However, the NHS continues to face challenges, and it is crucial that the STPs help restore financial balance to both the Provider and Commissioner sectors, as organisations continue to change and develop new and innovative ways to deliver services. These broader improvements and the wider integration that is taking place, mean that there has never been a more fascinating and challenging time to work alongside the NHS organisations that deliver healthcare to our communities.
The Regional Director of Finance South is a key member of the regional teams for the south east and south west at NHS England, with professional accountability to the Chief Financial Officer of NHS England. Working closely with the NHS England Regional Directors, you will have responsibility for exercising effective strategic and professional leadership for the NHS England finance function for the whole South region. Producing financial strategy for both regions, and providing scrutiny of CCG commissioning strategy, you would be working closely with NHSI to support the delivery plans and implementation strategy of STPs in the area, whilst providing professional leadership to teams across the region. With responsibility for the financial performance of both regions, the role offers an opportunity to make a huge impact on the communities and patients of southern England, guiding healthcare financial strategy across a diverse and varied set of demographics and communities.
