Interim Partners are currently working with a CCG in London who are looking to recruit an Interim Chief Operating Officer. This is a 3-month opportunity to support the organisation with key operational and transformation challenges whist they recruit a substantive. A recent background at this level within a CCG is essential.

As a member of the governing body the successful candidate will share responsibility with the Executive team to ensure that the CCG exercises its functions effectively, efficiently, economically, with good governance. There is a focus on the transformation agenda and you will be responsible for service redesign in line with the recovery plan.

As the successful candidate you will be responsible for driving the strategic and operational business objectives in conjunction with the senior leadership team. You will develop, implement and deliver commissioning plans, which will be fully aligned to the wider system strategic plan, Sustainability and Transformation Plan, and be fully accountable to the Governing Body for their delivery across all health and related care services.

The suitable candidate will have in depth Board level experience including working in a collective decision-making group such as an NHS Governing Body or Committee. Significant experience and skill in operating at senior level, and effective decision making, based on sound judgement. You will also have in depth experience of the whole commissioning cycle including procurement, contracting and performance management of high value contracts in the NHS.

As the successful candidate you will need to demonstrate strong leadership skills, have an ability to engage with different stakeholders and have a proven track record of delivering change, transformation and enhancing sustainability. In depth knowledge of performance measurement systems and how to use them to drive improvement is also important. If you have worked within a CCG that is financially challenged this will be of benefit.

This opportunity falls inside IR35.
