Associate Director of Joint Commissioning

Morgan Hunt's NHS client is looking for an interim Associate Director of Joint Commissioning for an initial 4-month period. The right candidate will be responsible for developing an induction programme including long term strategy development for newly restructured Joint Commissioning Unit responsible for Adults health & social care commissioning.

Key deliverables of the Associate Director of Joint Commissioning:

* Define the joint commissioning unit work programme promoting closer integration between health and social care commissioning across key portfolio areas: Learning Disabilities & Physical, Mental Health & Dementia, Older Adults & Integrated Care
* Development of revised Better Care Fund submission including review of potential new schemes, presentation of revised BCF plan 17-19 to Health & Well Being Board, sign-off of final BCF plan
* Oversee closedown of existing and mobilisation of new Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) provider
* Redesign Care Homes support QIPP
* Support identification of QIPP and value money savings opportunities across the joint commissioning unit spend 'non acute' spend portfolio
* Review 'Adults Forward View' procurement plan to align future health and social care procurement activities to ensure best value for money and longer term strategic fit (broader range of services within smaller number of procurements, longer timescales)

Essential previous experience of the successful candidate:

* Must have worked at NHS Band 8c/d recently in a local authority or CCG leading on Joint Commissioning (Head of or AD level)
* A background working with the Better Care Fund is beneficial
* Must demonstrate extensive knowledge and experience of both strategic and operational experience working between local authority and CCG
