Harvey Nash Healthcare is supporting a large private healthcare organisation based in the North West who requires Clinical Governance and Risk Management support for 3 months initially.

Our client are continually looking for ways to improve and embrace best practice and are focused on responding and improving processes when incidents occur or concerns are raised. The Governance team are dedicated to the development of staff and support on-going staff education, training and performance development within this area of the business. They now require an experienced Interim to support them for a short period - possibly until Christmas time this year.

The focus of this role will be to encourage the following core principles in the organisation:

  • Adopting risk management processes to proactively minimise risks to patients, visitors and staff
  • Continual assessment to ensure the effectiveness and quality of care through audit and feedback from patients
  • Promote a safety focused culture and encourage incident reporting and learning
  • Endorsing good practice and sharing successes

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring good governance through continually assessing performance, proactively responding to feedback and providing shared learning to create on-going action plans, which support our client to deliver high quality care.

Primary areas of responsibility:

  • Clinical audits
  • Patient feedback and complaints management
  • Incident management
  • Risk management
  • Policy development

Day to day duties:

  • Ensure that robust governance and risk management policies, systems and processes are in place;
  • Performance Management and measurement of Patient Safety and Risk Management initiatives;
  • Implement, monitor and co-ordinate both clinical and non-clinical risk management activity within the organisation; 
  • Be the primary driver of the identification and management of risk within their services; 
  • Ensuring Compliance with CQC standards; 
  • Risk & Safety reporting both internally and externally;
  • Responsible for co-ordination of Serious Incident Investigations and subsequent action planning

Ideal candidate:

  • Track record in a similar role; preferably a clinical background (but not essential)
  • Confident DATIX user - can manipulate data and produce reports when required
  • 'Broad' knowledge base in Governance, Risk Management and Patient Safety with a strong CV focused on these areas in previous roles
