Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is a leading provider of mental health, learning disabilities, substance misuse and children’s services in Derby city and Derbyshire county, delivering services to a population of approximately 1 million people. We employ over 2,400 staff based in over 60 locations and have an annual turnover of around £130 million.
Financially stable, we are committed to continued service transformation and collaborative working, creating a progressive organisation that puts the patient at the centre of everything that we do. Our philosophy of ‘Better Together’ reflects our ethos of collaborative working with our service users, carers, partners and staff to collectively improve health and wellbeing.
We are looking for an ambitious and exceptional values-based Chief Executive who is passionate about patient-centred care. You will be innovative with the ability to steer the organisation with energy and enthusiasm, developing us to be an efficient, sustainable organisation, and providing effective, visible leadership in the continued development of high quality, safe, responsive and accessible care and services.
We are seeking someone who can act in a strategic manner and play a lead and active role in the Derbyshire Sustainability and Transformation Partnership. Our Chief Executive will need to be able to demonstrate an understanding of the complexity of relationships that lie behind how care is delivered, feel comfortable bringing influence to bear to the benefit of patients and working with a collaborative and partnering approach.
Candidates will have relevant, demonstrable Chief Executive/Board level experience and a successful track record of leading transformation and service improvements, driving operational excellence and efficiency in substantial and complex NHS organisations ideally within mental health services.
This post will require inspirational, strategic leadership, personal gravitas and well-honed and highly effective communication skills. But above all we expect to appoint a leader who can demonstrate commitment to our values – always putting patients at the centre of everything we do, providing respectful and responsive care, working with integrity, honesty and trust to deliver effective and efficient services.
We welcome applications from everyone irrespective of gender and ethnic group. However, as members of protected characteristic groups are currently under-represented at this level of post, we would encourage applications from members of these groups. Appointment will be based on merit alone.
