With a new executive leadership team in place and clear focus on quality, there has never been a more exciting time to join Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust. In its most recent report, the Care Quality Commission described significant improvements across our services and we are determined to build on this progress. To support our ongoing transformation, we have recently undertaken a comprehensive review of our structure and leadership model. We are strengthening our existing Directorate structure by creating 5 clinical divisions and introducing a new senior leadership team for each Division, this will include a Clinical Chief of Service, a Divisional Director of Operations and a Head of Nursing/Professions.  Our new structure will be supported by the introduction of our “Patient First” improvement programme and a comprehensive leadership development programme for the new leadership teams. 

The Divisional Directors of Operations will be responsible for ensuring that safe and effective patient centred services are delivered at all times throughout the division in line with national and locally agreed standards. As key leaders in the organisation, the Divisional Directors of Operations will work with the Executive Team to ensure that the Trust is able to rapidly continue to improve services for patients and staff. 
As an experienced senior leader you will be highly motivated with a track record of delivering excellence and developing Teams to provide an efficient and patient-focused service.

You will have highly developed interpersonal skills, be adept at influencing change, building engagement and managing complex situations. A clear and adaptable communication style is essential to support an innovative and patient focused approach. 
BSUH is the regional teaching hospital, with more than 8,000 staff, providing general acute services to Brighton and Hove and Mid Sussex and tertiary services for patients across Sussex and the South East of England. Working as one hospital across two sites in Brighton and Haywards Heath, we treat more than half a million patients a year.
This post requires travel throughout the Trust to all its sites and will also require some regional travel.
