This is a new role for Surrey Choices, and as a pivotal member of our Senior Management Team you will join us at a time when your skills and experience will make a significant contribution to our business.  Our new Managing Director has been appointed to deliver an exciting vision for the future - and by working closely with her, our Board, and our Shareholder, you will help take Surrey Choices to the next level.

Your role

Excellent outcome-focused operational service delivery is the driving force for Surrey Choices.  As Chief Operating Officer, you will lead on improving operations, driving up staff quality, and broadening our areas of service delivery, playing a key role in writing tenders and pitching for new business.  You will also work with commissioners to co-produce excellent services through effective delivery of KPIs, ensuring a great customer experience.  We expect the senior operational team to benefit from both your professional leadership and your focus on their individual development needs.  And by developing strong relationships across the organisation, you will work with staff, customers, family carers and commissioners to change lives for the future.

Your background of skills and experience

To be equal to the challenge, you will need high level operational management experience in either the care or health sector. Ideally, you will have worked across a broad range of different environments, with a good understanding and practical experience of both current good practice and emerging service developments in health and social care.  You will be adept at negotiating with commissioners, and you will certainly be used to working within, and delivering effectively against, CQC and Quality Assurance frameworks.  A leader in delivering excellent care provision, you will use your experience to champion change, deliver on organisational strategies, and manage your staff teams to deliver the quality services our customers and their families expect.
