The post holder will be responsible for embedding a robust strategy for governance and assurance, incorporating corporate and clinical/quality governance which ensures that governance, quality and safety are seen as the responsibility for all staff, supported by an appropriately skilled and responsive Governance Team. He/she will establish and manage procedures for the sound clinical and corporate governance of the Trust and will advise the Trust Board and Chief Executive and provide a direct line of communication.

The post holder will be the source of expert advice in support of the Trust Board, the Executive Team and colleagues across the organisation for the key aspects of sound governance, assurance and risk management and ensures that this expertise is maximised by the organisation through structured/specialist training programmes and effective communication. 

The post holder will oversee and assist in embedding the new proposed integrated management structure and ensure all reporting lines are clearly maintained and develop the systems to assist in this and other actions arising from the recent NHS Improvement – governance review and Trust well-led review currently being undertaken
