Director of Strategy & Interim Deputy Chief Officer
The Director of Strategy for the Wiltshire Clinical Commissioning Group (WCCG) will be responsible for ensuring the development and delivery of WCCG Strategies and transformation plans as directed by the clinical commissioning group governing body and within the requirement of the wider Sustainability and Transformation Partnership.
This Director will act as Deputy Accountable Officer all the while the CCG has a standalone Accountable officer (prior to incorporation as a joint role into the local authority). This element of the role will be reviewed at integration.
They will bring high-level strategic leadership and management skills and experience to support and empower the clinical leadership at the heart of clinical commissioning.
This role will build respectful relationships and put in place effective working arrangements to enable the AO, Chair and other clinical leaders and the wider membership to deliver their vision. This includes developing and agreeing high level strategies and transformative delivery plans and wider stakeholder to deliver sustainable improvements in health, clinical outcomes, patient experience and productivity.
Working closely with the Chief Finance Officer (CFO) and other members of the management team, this role will take responsibility for ensuring that relevant financial, legal, performance and contractual requirements are met.
They will share responsibility with the AO for ensuring the continual development of the CCG, with increasing involvement of the member practices and the practice clusters. They will ensure the effective performance management of targets and standards for CCG commissioned services.
