Finegreen are recruiting on behalf of one of the leading private healthcare groups in the UK for a Senior Healthcare Procurement Analyst/Category Lead based in Bedfordshire.

This role will provide a high level of support to the Procurement Manager for the detailed commercial analysis of supplier spend for global negotiations and the management of the Medical Surgical Consumable Category.

The successful candidate will be the project lead, responsible for the delivery of key projects in line with the Regional and Global Procurement Strategy in conjunction with the Procurement Manager. This role will ensure and oversee the integrity of the regional and global catalogue and be responsible for the maintenance of such catalogues in conjunction with the regional and global procurement function.

Procurement experience required to identify the categories of spend, knowledge of medical devices and local and global tender processes.

The post holder will report directly to the Procurement Manager and will also provide support and expertise to the Procurement function for regional projects. The role involves work closely with the Clinical Lead Procurement to ensure that all trails/evaluations are undertaken and completed as per the client’s policy.

To provide an effective and professional service to internal and external customers that deliver on-going support benefits to the business both regional and global in line with the organisational objectives and deputise for the Procurement Manager as required for global projects.

The successful candidate:

  • Previous Purchasing experience in a health care environment;
  • Advanced global procurement experience;
  • Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook);
  • Self- motivated with excellent communication and prioritisation skills;
  • Proven ability to work effectively in both a team environment and autonomously;
  • Attention to detail, with the ability to produce clear, professional reports and tasks within designated time frames;
  • Experience in working within a regulated environment;
  • Proficient in the use of JD Edwards/ SAP systems;
  • Experience in master data projects;
  • Proven problem analysis, diagnostic and resolution skills;
  • Excellent customer service skills;
  • Strong commitment to excellence;
  • Demonstrable project management skills;
  • Previous managerial experience with demonstrable people management ability.

  • CIPS qualification;
  • Experience of tender management /administration;
  • Management of specialist medical consumable capital & revenue contracts;
  • Previous experience in a global procurement environment;
  • Knowledge of Catalogue Management Systems;
  • Knowledge of Benefit Tracking Tools;
  • Knowledge of Business Improvement Tools;
  • Knowledge of E- Tender Management Systems; 
  • Knowledge of ERP systems.
