Securing Foundation Trust status in 2011, The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, King’s Lynn, NHS Foundation Trust, is an established 488 bed general hospital which provides a comprehensive range of specialist, acute, obstetrics and community-based healthcare services to West and North Norfolk in addition to parts of Breckland, Cambridgeshire and South Lincolnshire covering a population of approximately 331,000 people.

Although the main hospital complex is on the outskirts of King's Lynn, Norfolk, the Trust is committed to providing care closer to our patients' homes with some specialist services and clinics provided in community facilities such as the North Cambridgeshire hospital in Wisbech, Fakenham Medical Centre, Swaffham Community hospital and St Georges Medical Centre in Littleport.

The Trust was placed in ‘special measures’ in October 2013 and following a subsequent inspection in June 2015, the CQC recognised the Trust’s work and progress on its improvement journey. While continuing to rate the organisation as ‘requires improvement’, the CQC acknowledged that the Trust had made significant improvements and the inspectorate recommended the Trust be taken out of special measures August 2015. After a challenging few years, the Trust is now on a sustained improvement trajectory.

The Trust is looking for a Director of Resources to join a newly formed executive team that has the vision and imagination to help shape and deliver services across the local system, and is embarking on a new era and rebirth of the organisation. 

As well as solid financial expertise, candidates should have a broader interest beyond finance which will enable them to contribute as a corporate director across all the Trust’s functions and lead a wider portfolio including Estates.  You will be instrumental in leading the continued financial stability, be able to manage multiple internal and external relationships and must have the credibility to command confidence from the Trust’s regulators and external partners.  

With exceptional interpersonal and influencing skills, you will be either an existing Director of Resources or Finance or a dynamic Deputy Director ready to make the step up and contribute to a progressive, newly formed innovative board.  First stage interviews will be held between Monday 8th and Wednesday 10th January. Final Panel interviews will be held on the 1st February 2018.
