Morgan Hunt's NHS Client is looking for a Head of Risk & Governance om an interim basis for 3-5 months

Key responsibilities:
Establish and maintain effective communications systems so that information can be shared and effective problem solving processes are implemented, ensuring there are good communication systems between the Quality and Risk team, the organisation and stakeholders.
To agree and coordinate a robust programme of patient safety activities to take place across the Trust.
To ensure that Trust priorities relating to patient safety and risk included in the Quality Governance Framework are effectively monitored and reported.
To liaise with the Clinical Divisions and ensure they have appropriate arrangements in place to manage and monitor patient safety and that relevant clinical indicators are measured and reported.
To produce reports including Trust performance against relevant patient safety indictors and lessons learnt/actions taken to improve patient safety.
To ensure the Trust participates in relevant national or mandated patient safety initiatives.
Responsible for the progress with Serious Incidents and their associated actions, ensuring further development and maintenance of the risk management system including risk registers and assurance framework
Responsible for advising the Executive Team and provide leadership and direction to staff across the Trust in ensuring the organisation is prepared for any external inspections or audits
Responsible for meeting the Trust's obligations in relation to national standards (e.g. Care Quality Commission Standards, NHS Litigation Authority Standards and National Reporting and Learning System Standards)
Responsible for developing and maintaining robust risk management and assurance processes that meet national standards (e.g. Care Quality Commission Standards, NHS Litigation Authority Standards and National Reporting and Learning System) and local needs
Responsible for supporting business planning and performance management processes

Key skills:
Evidence of continual professional development
Risk Management qualification to Masters level or equivalent experience
Experience of leading incident investigations and root cause analysis techniques
3-4 years experience of working as a senior member of a multi-disciplinary team
Previous experience in developing and implementing organisation wide projects
