Barnet, Enfield & Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust is a multiple award-winning Trust providing local, regional and national healthcare services. We have recently received the extremely positive news that the DH and NHS Improvement have agreed that we can move to submission of the full business case to redevelop our St Ann’s site. This £40m new build will mean that at long last we will be able to replace very poor inpatient facilities. Building work is due to commence in midsummer. Our key challenge is balancing quality with money. In the current year we are on target to achieve our control total of a deficit of £4.6m, but the financial position in North Central London remains, as it does for the whole Health and Social Care sector, an extremely challenging one. Despite this, national benchmarking continues to show that we are a high-quality, low-cost provider.
Our long-serving CEO, Maria Kane, has recently moved on to another Provider organisation in the patch, so we are seeking a new CEO to support us on the next stage of our journey. We want an inspirational leader who can champion our values, develop our external partnerships, hold others to account and bring a focus on achievement. Our next Chief Executive will need to be a confident and dynamic individual with a clear vision for the future, be passionate about service improvement and be able to inspire our clinicians, colleagues and partners.
