Finegreen are recruiting on behalf of an independent healthcare provider. This is an excellent opportunity for a Theatre Manager to join their Theatres Department within a private hospital based in the South East.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the operational management and activity of the Operating Theatres and Decontamination Service. This role is equivalent of NHS banding 8b. The hospital has been rated as outstanding by the CQC and they are now looking for a dynamic, established senior clinical leader to manage their Theatre team.

This role is a full time position working 37.5 hours per week and you will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern. 

Key Responsibilities:
• To provide clinical, professional and managerial leadership that provides direction and highly visible professional leadership for all staff within the teams;
• To take a 24 hour overall responsibility for the planning and delivery of safe patient centred care within Theatres and Decontamination Service that delivers against key performance indicators, service efficiencies and improvements in line with the strategic objectives and business plan for the hospital;
• Responsible for delivering excellent governance, ensuring all teams and services are legally compliant and adhering to all regulatory Care Quality Commission (CQC) requirements and clinical standards;
• To provide specialist theatre knowledge and support to Matron and Director of Patient Services;
• To be responsible for the day-to-day management of Theatres, liaising and working closely with the Ward/Service Manager to ensure efficient and effective plans and working practices;
• To ensure service provision is delivered within agreed budgets, delivering continuous resource management, cost improvement and theatre utilisation results;
• To ensure a high standard of evidence-based, high quality, cost effective care is consistently delivered that puts the patient first at all times;
• To act as a role model and patient advocate, ensuring a positive patient experience for all;
• Operates in the capacity of the Decontamination Lead with line management responsibility for the service and responsible to a senior responsible person at board level for the organisation; 
• To maintain own clinical competency. 
  

The successful candidate will be able to evidence significant experience within a Theatre environment and will be able to demonstrate their ability to lead and develop a team. Customer service and excellent communication skills are requisite of the role.


The successful candidate:
• 3+ years as a Theatre Manager, demonstrating considerable leadership experience
• Thorough understanding of clinical standards (e.g. AFPP standards) and regulatory (CQC) frameworks, audits, policies and procedures;
• Solid acute surgical care experience;
• Managing various relationships at a senior level i.e. Patients, Consultants, healthcare professionals, suppliers;
• Management and delivery against budgets and implementing cost efficiency savings;
• RGN/ODP Qualification;
• ILS and ENB 998 Qualification.
