Finegreen are currently partnering with a leading private healthcare provider to recruit a Matron for a private hospital based within the South Central region.

We would welcome the opportunity to speak with candidates who have the following skills and experience.
The Matron role is integral to the safe running of the hospital. The role will report directly to the General Manager and the successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to developing the Clinical Team to the benefit of patient care and business performance. A commitment to the development of high quality evidence based acute care is essential, combined with personal drive, enthusiasm, creativity and resilience.

The successful candidate will work in close partnership with the General Manager and Senior Management Team and become fully involved in the strategic and business development of the hospital to ensure that corporate targets are met. It is also a requirement that the successful candidate will participate in the Senior Management on-call (24/7) for the Hospital on a rotational basis.

It is expected that the successful applicant will possess the following:

  • A strong clinical background in acute surgical/orthopaedic/medical care;
  • NMC Registration;
  • Significant experience managing CQC inspections;
  • Strong Clinical Governance background;
  • Significant exposure in a senior clinical role to external stakeholders such as consultants and the health care community;
  • Demonstrable departmental and people management knowledge, skills and experience;
  • Experience in development and administration of budgets, management reports and supply contracts;
  • Comprehensive understanding of relevant legal and professional care/practice standards; 
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Effective presentation and IT (Microsoft office) skills.

The successful candidate will also act as the clinical representative at Medical Advisory Committee and Clinical Effectiveness Committee meetings and would work closely with the respective Chairpersons to ensure all Clinical Governance issues are appropriately dealt with. The successful applicant will have a proven track record of change management and evidence of on-going professional development.

Please note, the ideal candidate will have experience in managing CQC inspections, clinical experience in theatres or nursing and a strong background in clinical governance ideally within Private Healthcare.

The salary is circa £60,000 per annum dependent on experience with a competitive benefits package.
