Western Sussex is one of only five acute hospital trusts rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission and is providing leadership support to its neighbour, Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust, in improving its performance and building a new organisational culture that can underpin longer-term achievement and success there.

While the two organisations are at different stages of their improvement journey, they are guided by the same ambition of always putting the patient first and are equally committed to empowering front line staff to identify and deliver positive change in all areas of their work.

Western Sussex Hospitals is now seeking a new Chair who shares the same commitment to improvement and innovation in patient care and can enhance the ability of the Board and Executive Team to provide the leadership each organisation needs to fulfil its great potential.
