Finegreen are recruiting on behalf of a leading provider of integrated healthcare services to the NHS, specialising in medicines, pharmaceutical care and primary care patient services. This is an excellent opportunity for a Lead Nurse for Operations to join their multi-therapy national nursing team.

The ideal candidate will be a Registered Nurse and an experienced clinician; who will lead, manage and motivate a multi-therapy, national nursing team in a number of specialist areas to deliver clinical care in a safe, effective and efficient way. You will deliver and support the continued development of the nursing strategy.

The post holder will be responsible for the operational delivery of services across Paediatrics, Oncology, Patient Support Programmes and Nurse Scheduling. You will lead, manage and motivate the teams within the scope of responsibility, to achieve service excellence, ensuring efficient and effective people management processes and systems are in place and appropriate procedures are followed. The ideal candidate will act as a senior leader, providing support and guidance and an escalation point for the nursing service on clinical, people management and operational issues. You will be expected to deputise for the Head of Nursing as and when required.

You will be a competent practitioner and maintain clinical skills, knowledge and deliver clinical care as and when required. The post holder will work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and ensure effective communication with internal and external stakeholders/customers. This role involves you working closely with the commercial team in realising new business opportunities, supporting projects & proposals, customer review meetings and service level complaints and providing feedback on issues or concerns.
The post holder will monitor trend analysis of complaints and clinical incidents and ensure that root cause analysis is completed and change implemented in line with local and national best practice standards when required to improve quality, safety and patient experience. You will support, develop and promote audits, reviews and external nursing assessments related to patient care, nursing practice and professional standards, utilising the outcomes of these to improve the quality of care and service to patients/families.
Please note, this role is field based and you must have the flexibility to travel across the main sites in Coventry, Derby and Essex.

You will support the growth across the Speciality Healthcare Centre Services, as part of the newly formed Speciality division focused on creating new models of care closer to home, creating more positive lives. Across these services, patients in the community setting will receive specialist nurse or pharmacist led care bringing together skillsets across multiple professionals. You will work closely with the Nursing Service Managers within the Clinical Homecare services helping shape specialist nurse led services.

The ideal candidate will have a firm understanding of patient and NHS clinician expectations within the management of specialist morbidities (e.g. oncology, haematology, rheumatoid arthritis, respiratory) and safe and effective care planning for this patient group. You will be familiar with the administration of specialist therapies (biologics, biosimilars, immunotherapy) requiring specialist diagnosis, administration, management and follow up support. You will have a strong grasp of NHS patient and care pathways and how services are delivered to add credibility when building and maintaining relationships with the NHS.

The successful candidate will have:
  • Registered General Nurse (Level 1) with current NMC registration;
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development linked to demonstrable competencies;
  • Degree level education or willingness to work towards;
  • Extensive post registration experience in an acute setting;
  • 5yrs experience in regional/ general management role;
  • Enhanced people management skills;
  • Experience of implementing change within a complex clinical environment;
  • Ability to support the development of the professional workforce in line with service needs;
  • Ability to manage significant/ sensitive HR and disciplinary issues;
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in the Commercial team, Finance, Governance and HR to provide strong professional leadership;
  • Ability to lead on projects that will impact and influence the nursing service;
  • Ability to lead on programmes of activity for specific initiatives on related nursing and professional matters;
  • Ability to make independent / supported clinical decisions;
  • Ability to work independently and autonomously;
  • Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot;
  • Ability to deal with complex and emotional situations;
  • Understanding of the needs of the business within the healthcare environment.
