Job Details
The Finegreen Group is working in partnership with an NHS organisation based in Yorkshire that requires an experienced interim Senior Income Accountant for a three to six-month assignment commencing in February. This role is at AfC band 8a with the equivalent day rate.
The postholder will be required to provide a pro-active, comprehensive and high-quality income and contracting service to the Trust, Divisions and Commissioners.
Key responsibilities will include;
- To lead on the provision of high-quality income information to Divisions;
- To support the Head of Income and Contracts in the negotiation, development and in-year monitoring of the contracts with Commissioners;
- To lead on the yearly ‘road test’ exercise to ensure an effective baseline for the negotiation of contracts;
- To monitor, model and advise upon the financial impact of reforming NHS financial flows;
- Manage contracts with Commissioners, ensuring they are kept up to date and the Trust meets it’s contractual requirements;
- Work as a senior member of the Income Team, ensuring high quality information is provided and excellent customer service offered;
- To ensure the income to the Trust is maximised;
- To monitor and model the financial impact of reforming NHS financial flows;
- Develop and maintain comprehensive Division Reports, including activity and forecasts, in conjunction with the Head of Reporting;
- Play a key role in educating and providing advice and information to staff in the Trust on National Tariff.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent accounting qualification or AAT technician with equivalent experience;
- Income and contracting experience in an NHS organisation essential;
- Significant experience in all aspects of financial reporting, planning and control.
- Significant experience of working to tight reporting deadlines;
- Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Excel, Word and large general ledger systems. Ability to apply knowledge to workload and demonstrate analytical skills
- Ability to work on own initiative as well as under the direction of the Director of Finance;
- Ability to work efficiently, effectively and professionally in a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent communication skills.
