Job Details

An integral part of our Improvement Plan is the introduction of Clinically Led Leadership Teams at a local placed based level ensuring that a positive service user experience is at the centre of everything we do.  We need to listen and understand the views of our service users and ensure that this informs clinically evidenced based support.

Our services are provided in partnership with local systems across five locality-based Care Groups in Norfolk and Suffolk, with our specialist services providing trust wide and regional services.

“The need to positively change our culture so we can improve the quality and safety of support to our service users is the only priority for our Trust Board; we need to do better for the people of Norfolk and Suffolk and we are committed to achieving this at pace.” – Stuart Richardson, Chief Operating Officer

This really is an exciting time to join The Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust, as we move at pace to improve our services. Integral to the success of our plan will be the recruitment of a Service Director for each of our localities and one for our Specialist Services.

As Service Director you will be supported in each Care Group by a Clinical Director, Lead Nurse and Service User Experience Lead, ensuring that decision making is clinically led and made in partnership with local system leaders and the local population.  We understand that a one sized model of services across Norfolk and Suffolk doesn’t meet local needs and requirements.  To support this the leadership team for each care group, will be part of local alliance models of care, which are currently being developed within local STP’s.

As part of the leadership team, you will be empowered to be responsible and accountable for local decision making and will be supported by reporting directly to the Executive Management Team.

As Mental Health Trust, we are looking for people to join us who are confident compassionate leaders, who have a proven track record at implementing person centred transformation at pace.

You will be a champion for improving service users experience of services and reducing the health inequalities experienced by people who have mental and emotional health difficulties and learning disabilities.

You will have the necessary experience and skills to positively influence the development of services at a local level.  You will need to be skilled at working across partnerships and be able to make positive changes that benefit the system, in what can be at times very complex situations.  You will need to be a visionary, challenge the norm and see how the future can be exciting with services being led and developed in new ways that challenge traditional models of providing care.

You may be from a clinical background, but this is not essential, what is essential is your understanding of the current health and social care system nationally and across East Anglia.  NSFT is facing immediate challenges that requires leadership that can ensure change is sustainable and implemented at pace.

To support you we will provide each Care Group with a bespoke package of development and support.  We are embedding a new way of working so you will receive a comprehensive induction you will also receive a personal development plan which will include protected time for your professional development with support from an external coach.
