Do you want an exciting career opportunity in a dynamic Trust? We’re looking for someone with energy and passion, who wants to make a real difference to our organisation.

Rated ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission in January and ‘Outstanding’ for Caring, we want a Chief Nurse who can lead our fantastic team of 2,300 nurses, midwives and healthcare professionals to build on this success.

Based in a vibrant city and surrounded by some of the most beautiful countryside in the UK, Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust (BSUH) is the Major Trauma Centre for the south east coast and an acute teaching hospital, providing district general and specialised services locally and across the region.

We have an experienced executive leadership team, who have a clear focus on quality and a supportive culture so there has never been a more exciting time to join our Trust.

Our ambitions for the future are underpinned by the Trust’s philosophy of ‘Patient First’, our long-term approach to transforming hospital services by applying principles of lean management at all levels of the organisation.

We give our staff the training, tools and freedom to work out where new opportunities lie, and the skills and support to make change happen on a sustainable basis. Along with colleagues across our hospitals they are continuously delivering and developing exceptional quality care with the highest of safety standards.

You’ll enjoy the same commitment to training and support and benefit from working with one of the most successful executive teams in the NHS; The trust is led by Marianne Griffiths ranked No.1 in the Health Service Journal’s list of leading chief executives for 2018.

A key member of the leadership team and a voting Board member, you’ll lead the development and delivery of clinical and professional standards and the development of leadership capacity within nursing, midwifery and healthcare professionals.

As our Executive lead in a number of key areas, including patient safety, patient experience and safeguarding you’ll be a highly motivated experienced leader with excellent communications skills.

Choose to work at BSUH and you will find we offer an open, collaborative working environment in which you will be encouraged to develop your leadership, improvement and innovation skills. You will be supported personally and professionally by a commitment to care and compassion that applies as much to our staff as it does to our patients. We value and promote diversity and are committed to equality of opportunity for all.

BSUH is also a great choice for your lifestyle. Our hospitals in Haywards Heath and Brighton have on their doorstep beautiful beaches, a buzzing city and tranquil countryside; and they benefit from excellent schools and easy transport access to London, Gatwick Airport and beyond.

If you would like to discuss the exciting opportunities this role offers or would like to arrange a visit please contact Denise Farmer, Chief Workforce and Development Officer on number supplied

Application is via CV with a supporting statement to Kelly-Marie Sims, Operational Manager for HR Employment Services, via apply button.
