Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is at the heart of the community we serve, providing a wide range of high quality integrated hospital and community based health care services to people in Rhondda Cynon Taf, Merthyr Tydfil and, from April, to the people of Bridgend.  From April we will employ around 12,500 people and hold an annual budget of circa £1 billion.  We are by any measure a large, complex and person-centred organisation and our services and facilities are some of the most innovative and high performing in the Welsh health system.  These include the ground-breaking Keir Hardie University Health Park combining health and social care under one roof.

We are seeking a new Executive Director of Therapies and Health Science at a time of real opportunity and development for our Health Board.   We are focused on improving the health and wellbeing of our populations, reducing health inequalities and embedding a culture of continuous improvement in the quality of our care provision.   The Director of Therapies and Health Science is the principal source of advice to the Board on all aspects of therapy and health science services.  They will play a central role in promoting innovation and research as well as ensuring that therapy and health science staff are engaged in our focus on moving more services from hospital to community based care; maximising the benefits of our truly integrated healthcare environment.  Working in partnership with our Medical Director and Director of Nursing, this role will lead the clinical governance of our services with professional responsibility for all staff regulated by the Health and Care Professions Council.

We are seeking an experienced clinical leader who is passionate about our transformation journey.  With a background in one of the therapies or health sciences you will be an ambassador for these professional groups.  A visionary and collaborative leader, your track record of delivering change within a complex, healthcare environment will be essential.  Comfortable in engaging at Board level, you will have excellent communication skills and the ability to contribute to the wider corporate and strategic agendas.  As one of only ten Directors of Therapies and Health Science in the Welsh Health system this role also offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute at a national level.

This is a challenging and rewarding role with the opportunity to improve the health and wellbeing of our staff and people living in the Cwm Taf Morgannwg area.
