HSJ editor wins third award

HSJ editor Alastair McLellan has been named “editor of the year” in the trade and professional category of the British Society of Magazine Editor awards.

He is now holder of all three of the magazine industry’s main ‘editor of the year’ awards.

McLellan beat the editors of Pulse, Property Week, and Inside Housing and others to the BSME award.

The judges’ citation stated: “This editor was setting the standard and setting the agenda as well as reporting it. The brand itself is a testament to the power of magazines at a time when both clarity and consistent quality journalism was needed more than anything else. Without doubt Alastair is a true editorial force to be reckoned with.”

McLellan was also named ‘editor of the year’ in June’s Periodical Publishing Awards and September’s Association of Online Publishers Awards.
