Leadership Q&A: Lancashire and South Cumbria FT

It is a truly transformational time for the senior leadership team in Lancashire and South Cumbria Foundation Trust. I joined the Trust as chief executive last year and since then have had the privilege of building a refreshed, talented, and values-driven Executive team.   

We have spent the last year listening to our staff, service users and carers and partners to understand how we need to change our services for the future.  Our new organisational structure will align Locality Networks with our systems’ Integrated Care Partnerships enabling great partnership working and local service delivery with consistent high quality for people using our services no matter where they access them.

Each of our five new networks will be led by a triumvirate of an Operations Director, Nurse Director and Medical Director and we are pleased to be recruiting to all these crucial senior leadership positions. We also have a new role in our structure of a Deputy Chief Operating Officer who will work across the whole organisation.  As a leadership team we are committed to embedding cultural change through a style of leadership that is aligned to our values “we are kind, respectful, always learning and a team”.  

The locality triumvirate teams will work together to provide senior strategic, visible, clinical and professional leadership across the network and externally with local partners.

Our leadership teams will create an environment of trust, where all staff are empowered to drive improvement, thrive and operate at their best. Quickly building credibility with a range of stakeholders across the organisation and externally, our new leaders will flourish in the autonomy of these positions. We are seeking compassionate leaders who are champions of diversity and inclusion, put service users and carers at the centre of decision making and actively work in partnership with staff and partners.
