The proposed merger of University Hospitals of South Manchester and Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust on 1 October will create one of the largest organisations in the NHS. This is a unique opportunity for us to build on the strong identities of our individual hospitals whilst realising the benefits of removing organisational boundaries.

The new Hospital Chief Executive roles for the Manchester Royal Infirmary and the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital are the highest priority appointments within our new structure. These are unique opportunities to shape services for the future through innovation and partnership. With direct accountability to the Trust’s Group Chief Executive, these roles will be critical in shaping our future vision and will deliver through their own Director teams.

We are seeking experienced NHS Chief Executives or senior Directors with a track record of strong performance and credible leadership gained in complex provider organisations. Setting clear standards and embedding a culture of continuous improvement, you will provide a transparent, progressive environment for our outstanding teams of talented clinicians and wider dedicated staff groups.  Comfortable in shaping an emerging context, your collaborative style will enable you to influence and engage across the organisation as well as in wider public services in the City.
