Chief Executive Officer
Define your career. Shape our future.
Manchester, Trafford and the surrounding areas provide an incredibly varied and dynamic challenge for the hospitals serving them. Working collectively under the umbrella of Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, this single Hospital Service was formed on the first of October 2017, and is the result of a merger between University Hospitals of South Manchester NHS Foundation Trust (UHSM) and Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CMFT) – making the largest Trust in England and the third largest provider of specialist Services in the NHS. The Trust is also a forward thinking academic science centre at the heart of Health Innovation in this vibrant city of Manchester. We are now seeking to appoint a Hospital Chief Executive Officer to head up the Manchester Royal Infirmary Hospital – an epic role for an exceptional individual.
Shaping the future of this busy hospital with your clear strategic vision, you will be at the helm of an exciting period of change. Thanks to the recent merger, we are looking forward to a future in which shared resources will offer access to specialised services 24/7. Combining our commitment to world-class research with precision medicine, you will forge close working relationships with wider public services in the vicinity plus other contacts within the NHS, providing linked-up capabilities for the benefit of the patients. With patient safety a key priority, you will ensure resources are being used efficiently and that we are meeting and exceeding regulatory standards. Supporting an environment of innovation, you will ensure your strategies are sustainable, and your financial management of the hospital will secure this valuable service for the locality.
When you take on this exciting venture, you can expect a working life within a thriving City region that is quite unique. As such, you will share our vision of improving the health outcomes for our local population with a commitment to inspiring a culture of continuous improvement. Coming from a senior leadership background such as Chief Executive or Director in a medium to large hospital in which you produced impressive results, you will offer demonstrable evidence of inspiring change for the benefit of the patients. With a post graduate qualification and a track record of continuous development, your ability to manage risk – and take calculated risks where relevant – will be complemented by your resilience in the face of pressure. With fantastic communication skills and meticulous standards, your natural leadership skills will inspire great results from your team.
We are focussed on providing an exceptional level of care to the population that we serve, so if you share our vision of a high-performing hospital Trust that works collaboratively to achieve the best outcomes, then we’d love to hear from you.
