The construction of our new state-of-the-art Hospital in the centre of Liverpool is well under way and due to open later this year.  The new Royal and BioCampus will be the city centre’s biggest ever health and life sciences development and the place from which Liverpool will continue to export innovation to the world.  The new hospital will transform healthcare in the city, providing both the most advanced treatment and the highest standards of comfort, privacy and dignity for our patients. With plans for the merger with Aintree University Hospital NHS FT well advanced, this role will help create one of the largest NHS Trusts in the country that will enable the delivery of better quality, cost effective and sustainable care for the people of Liverpool, and the wider Cheshire and Merseyside region.

At this exciting time for healthcare across the City, we are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated Executive Medical Director to successfully lead us through the challenges that these changes present. It is therefore an exciting time to join us and be part of driving these huge opportunities for promotion of our outstanding organisation.  You will effectively engage the medical teams in the delivery of the vision for clinical services across Liverpool. With a strong personal profile you will bring experience in leading complex change and working collaboratively with partners across a system to develop integrated solutions. Most importantly you will grasp the clinical, research and academic possibilities presented to Merseyside by a new hospital and a City-wide merged acute provider.  With preparations for the merger at an advanced stage, and with a shadow board for the new organisation due to be in place later this year, this ‘ring-fenced’ role will place you at the forefront of these plans.
