A large NHS organisation based in the North West is looking to appoint an interim EBME Manager, likely to be for a period of 6 months. 

Main Responsibilities:
  • Effectively manage the organisations EBME Department, developing and enhancing the delivery of a high quality, ISO9001 accredited service to all service users; 
  • Monitor and manage the PPM’s and jobs outstanding on Backtraq to ensure that the department is delivering an effective service; 
  • Ensure that the Trust is meeting its NHSLA and CQC requirements for the management of medical devices; 
  • Ensure that compliance with the SOP for the repair and maintenance of medical devices and to review the SOP periodically; 
  • Responsible for delivering, managing and developing EBME policies and services to the Trust, responding both to the external health agenda and internal initiatives; 
  • Responsible for departmental budget and physical resources and all HR related matters; 
  • Organisations lead and expert advisor in dealing with technical difficulties with Medical Equipment and investigating all serious incidents involving Medical Equipment; 

A successful candidate will have:
  • Technical/experienced based qualification, or Degree related; 
  • Extensive experience of Medical Equipment Management; 
  • Evidence of significant CPD activity including both technical and managerial training; 
  • Extensive knowledge of Medical Equipment; 
  • Risk Management expertise as applied to Medical Equipment; 
  • Sound knowledge of the Medical Devices Management Criterion as stated by the Controls Assurance Standard.
