A large NHS organisation is currently seeing to appoint interim Associate Director of Operations for an initial period of 3 months.  

Main Responsibilities:
  • To be directly responsible for managing all aspects of operational delivery to the agreed quality standards and to support the Trust’s development as a clinically led organisation; 
  • Line management of Operations Leads and administrative staff within the Division, either directly or through delegated responsibility; 
  • Work in partnership with colleagues across the Trust to drive the achievement of the Trust’s corporate goals and business plan, including the achievement of the all performance standards incorporating quality, safety, contractual, financial and people; 
  • Act as an ambassador for the Trust, ensuring the positive development of the Trust brand, championing the Trust’s values and ensuring the recognition of the Trust in providing exceptional healthcare for patients; 
  • Operate as accountable budget holder for the Division budget and be accountable for all pay and non-pay expenditure; 
  • Provide visible operational leadership to the Division and promote continual improvement in quality, performance and delivery of Trust objectives; 
  • Develop the business and planning processes throughout the Division to deliver services to required standards and within the available resource base; 
  • Develop patient pathways with clinical staff and colleagues in primary care, which deliver best practice and make progress towards achievement of wait time standards and milestones required within Financial and Performance Management. 

A successful candidate will have:
  • Proven budget management skills and financial acumen with experience of delivering CIPs within an organisation with a multi-million turnover; 
  • Credible and persuasive in senior operations roles with senior colleagues negotiation skills; 
  • Excellent organisational skills and evidence of these in a multidisciplinary environment.
