Our client an NHS organisation is looking to appoint an Interim Operations Manager for Medical specialties. This role will be at interim contractor rates under the CCS NMNC Framework at Band 8c.
This role will start ASAP and will be for 3 months in the first instance.

Role brief:
  • Responsible for the day to day management and strategic planning for a number of services within the Medicine Division
  • Lead and manage all aspects of a defined group of services to meet agreed targets within the resources available
  • Lead and manage all staff within a defined service area.
  • Ensure agreed targets are achieved
  • In conjunction with a Senior Operational Lead, annually review the staff (and budgetary) establishment, determine the profile that is best able to meet the needs of patients across the service area, ensure that it is manageable and managed within the resources available
  • Lead planning and commissioning process within the service
  • Develop appropriate partnership working with local commissioners and providers as part of STP process.
  • Manage and develop the service in line with relevant national standards, frameworks and clinical governance agenda
  • Ensure effective lines of communication from ward and department level to Divisional Director, Clinical Director and Associate Director of Operations
  • Oversee and facilitate changes in healthcare provision in line with Trust and national initiatives and the transformation agenda
Key skills and experience:
  • Graduate Management qualification or equivalent experience 
  • Substantial experience of managing a health, social or similar service
  • Success in working collaboratively across and managing professions and services
  • Demonstrable success in managing change that improves services and engages staff 
  • Commissioning and Service planning processes
  • Report writing and business planning
  • Managing a large team including the full range of HR issues
  • Experience of managing within scarce resources including finances
