We are working with an NHS organisation in the South East of England in their search to appoint an Interim Associate Director of Operations – Community & Mental Health.
A strong and credible track record of managing services within Community & Mental Health at this level in the NHS is essential for this appointment. The successful candidate will be able to start ASAP and hit the ground running.

This role will be for 3 months in the first instance.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall leadership, strategic direction and management of all service areas in the portfolio;
  • Responsible for ensuring services meet the Care Quality Commission regulations and by optimising resources will ensure continuous progress is made in service improvement, ensuring patients and service users experience the best possible care;
  • The primary focus will be to ensure the organisation provides high quality, safe, patient services that meet the needs of our patients and are compliant at all times with the organisation’s quality, contractual and commissioned obligations;
  • Responsible for ensuring the service has clear staff management and leadership with structured supervision, appraisals and personal development plans (PDPs) in place;
  • Responsible for the development and delivery of operational services within agreed financial plan;
  • Ensure robust financial management in line with the Trust’s targets, including the delivery of ongoing cost improvement plans;
  • To ensure robust performance management of the services meeting key national and local targets;
  • Ensure that accountability frameworks are in place to support clinical governance, risk management, research and development, service planning, performance monitoring and financial management, proactively identifying issues of concern (with contingency plans) in a timely fashion.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Relevant degree/and or professional qualification;
  • Substantial experience at senior management level in the delivery of integrated health and social care services;
  • Experienced in the strategic development and delivery of service area
  • Ability to successfully plan and manage complex service or organisational change;
  • Understands the underlying social / political and national realities or health and social care
