A large healthcare organisation is looking an experienced Estates professional who has worked at senior operational management level within a healthcare organisation. Will need experience of Contracts and Compliance related to NHS estates. 

Main Responsibilities:
  • Ensure a high standard Facilities Management service is provided throughout the estate either through contracted provision, or directly managed services, ensuring a timely rectification to any failures in service delivery; 
  • Provide a high profile lead on strategic development and day to day management of Facilities services; 
  • Provide strong leadership on the operational management and monitoring of the PFI service provision, to ensure procedures, processes and service reviews are in line with contractual requirements; 
  • Encourage a strong “customer service” culture within the team recognising both internal and external customers; manage and maintain a professional team approach to all matters; 
  • Oversee the day to day interface between the Estates and Facilities Directorate and service providers with respect to service delivery, risk management, compliance and service standards, and will develop and maintain effective working relationships with the service providers, and internal service users; 
  • Ensure that appropriate standards in relation to statutory and mandatory regulations are met;
  • Hold considerable autonomy and scope for contributing to projects/schemes as and when requested by the Director of Estates and Facilities; 
  • Liaise with suppliers on all sites regarding soft FM monitoring and reporting.

A successful candidate will have:

  • Relevant Estates and Facilities management experience within the NHS or equivalent environment; 
  • Experience of contract management, preferably or a large FM contract in the NHS; 
  • Proven record of success in managing operational change while also developing and maintaining high standards of quality; 
  • Previous experience of managing an operational PFI project, both during commissioning and operational phases; 
  • Excellent ability to meet deadlines and complete tasks within agreed time scales.
