Job Details

The Finegreen Group are currently partnering with a fast growing healthcare support organisation that work with NHS organisations to win contracts within the healthcare sector. Our client manages the whole bid and tender writing process for organisations, as well as advising on strategy. This ultimately helps patients get a better service, and the NHS get best value.

My client has worked with a diverse set of customers from across the NHS and private sector. Their services have been used to bid on everything from mental health services to surgical equipment to MSK. At the beginning of the bid and tender process they start with understanding the service that your organisation provides, and what makes those services the best in the market. Their full service bid support helps their clients, and then crafts a tender response that sells this service.

The organisation is now in a position to recruit a Senior Bid Manager to join their bid team based in Yorkshire. This role will report into the Chief Operating Officer and the postholder will be expected to take a leading role in the production of bids for various clients, often managing several projects simultaneously. As part of the bid team, you will have significant freedom to determine how to spend your time, within the framework of the projects set out by the Chief Operating Officer.

The Senior Bid Manager is responsible for a series of bid projects, as set out by the Chief Operating Officer. These will fall into two groups – bids which the Senior Bid Manager leads, and bids for which they are part of the bid team.

These activities may involve travel across the UK, which will be reimbursed in line with Bidding Limited’s expenses policy.

When assessing the operational priorities for the business, the Chief Operating Officer will assign bids to the Senior Bid Manager. They will then be expected to:-
  • Liaise with the client where appropriate to arrange timescales for meetings;
  • Create a kick-off pack;
  • Facilitate the solution design process (where agreed with the client);
  • Manage clarification questions;
  • Write answers to questions and/or manage the Bid Writing team in writing these answers;
  • Participate in the review process;
  • Deliver a bid for review by the Chief Operating Officer ahead of submission to the client;
  • Any other related processes.
As a member of the Bid Team, the Senior Bid Manager may be asked to carry out any of the actions above as part of a project managed by either the Chief Operating Officer, or another member of the team.

Additional Responsibilities
The Senior Bid Manager may be asked to participate in:-
  • Business Development activities, such as attending sales meetings or conferences
  • Building costs in order for the sales team to accurately quote for work
  • Project planning with the Chief Operating Officer
  • Professional development of the Bid Writers, including training
  • Strategic planning of the business
Please note, experience in the healthcare system would be an advantage for this particular role.

My client offers a salary of up to £35,000 per annum (dependent on experience) with a competitive benefits package. This role is suited to an ambitious professional who is looking to join a rapidly growing business. We are interested to hear from individuals working within the healthcare system.

If you are interested in this role then please contact Zoe Allen at Finegreen Group on 0161 416 6086.
