A large healthcare organisation is looking to appoint a Project Officer to support the implementation of a Safeguarding Alliance across a number of CCGs. 

Main Responsibilities:
  • Agree and set out the CCG statutory duties for adult and children safeguarding
  • and map how these are currently met across a group of CCGs; 
  • Identifying gaps and opportunities for sharing best practice and opportunities for aligning systems and processes; 
  • Reviewing current safeguarding governance arrangements in each CCG and scoping out what a CCGs governance arrangement would look like; 
  • Mapping of safeguarding roles, responsibilities and capacity for both adult and children
  • Reviewing and identifying opportunities for aligning safeguarding compliance monitoring arrangements including section 11, MCA/DoLS, safeguarding dashboards; 
  • Review CCG involvement in shaping the development of safeguarding partnerships and to confirm that the CCGs are equal decision makers in this; 
  • Review outcomes from safeguarding inspections and opportunities to share learning and benchmark; 
  • Develop a collective intelligence of the learning from SCR/SARS and opportunities for shared learning; 
  • Share safeguarding priorities for each CCG, identify opportunities for joint working where there is commonality; 
  • Review new CDOP arrangements and potential impact on CCG; Review models of supervision and networking and consider opportunities for aligning these and/or developing safeguarding networking across the CCGs; 
  • Identify examples of innovative safeguarding practice, providing monthly update on progress to the Directors of the Forum, escalating are areas of concerns or blockages to progressing the work in a timely manner; 
  • Provide the Safeguarding Assurance framework, gap analysis and action plan; 
  • Organise safeguarding learning event/workshop over a period of 3 months from start date; 
A successful candidate will have:
  • Experience of managing a successful organisation wide project using project management methodologies; 
  • Ability to assimilate and analyse and present information is clear and concise way identifying key themes. Work with minimal supervision to analyse data and processes to judge and inform improvements; 
  • Ability to recognise when to escalate issues that might need urgent resolution to implement change; 
  • Skills in data management and analysis, also within MS project, Excel and producing Power Point presentations.
  • Must hold NHS experience within project management, ideally in a similar setting to this role.
