Job Details
The successful candidate shall support the organisation in providing good corporate governance at local and cross-organisational level. They will also oversee Risk Management processes and policies and subsequent reporting to the organisations’ Audit Committees and Executive/Governing Body Committees in Common.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage and lead team members and support colleagues to deliver governance and risk policies and processes for the organisation;
- Support the delivery of day to day activities and projects where there are governance and / or risk issues in a senior capacity;
- Support the identification and sharing of best practice and work with colleagues on ensuring the highest levels of quality assurance processes for meetings and meeting papers;
- Use project management skills, allocating tasks as appropriate, identifying risks, issues and dependencies, and considering best practice and current options;
- Develop a comprehensive and cohesive plan for the annual cycles of risk and governance (including any changes that may be required due to development of new systems and partnerships);
- Directly lead and manage staff; responsible for day to day work assigned to the Team;
- Effectively lead and manage Governance Managers and the Datix and Risk Manager offering professional support and development in order to maximise their effectiveness.
The successful candidate will be/have:
- Educated to masters level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in specialist area;
- Extensive knowledge of specialist Governance and Risk areas, acquired through post graduate diploma or equivalent experience or training plus further specialist knowledge or experience to master’s level equivalent;
- Working knowledge of the Datix Risk Management system;
- Previously responsible for a budget, involved in budget setting and working knowledge of financial processes;
- Effective organizer, influencer and networker.
