Job Details
Main Responsibilities:
- Oversee acute providers on all aspects of contract and performance and undertake the supplier relationship management function, also line management of a senior team;
- Work collaboratively with key stakeholders to develop best practice to meet the needs of the organisation and all its stakeholders;
- Manage relationships with providers and clinical experts in an effective manner to deliver strategies and processes to meet developing needs;
- Provide subject matter expertise towards the development of best practice methodologies, policies and strategies;
- Oversee the assigned provider portfolio in accordance with the NHS Commissioning Framework for Specialised Services;
- Produce monthly performance reports including the development and monitoring of trend information and the production of detailed forecasting across the contract portfolio;
- Plan and oversee the annual contract negotiation process with providers within the portfolio, this will include the development of negotiation strategies and may involve cross organisational working to ensure that the best model is developed;
- Provide a lead role in the development of activity plans for contracts within the portfolio, ensuring that strategies for specialised services are appropriately reflected;
- Collaborate with colleagues in primary and secondary care to ensure that performance upstream of the specialised service element of the commissioned pathway is fully understood.
- Hold equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in specialist area within specialist commissioning;
- Proven negotiator with a track record of securing results from personally leading multiple rounds of complex negotiations in a healthcare environment of over £100m;
- Should have an appreciation of the relationship between the Department of
- Health, NHS England and individual provider and commissioning organisations;
- In depth knowledge of regulatory and legislative landscape in relation to choice, competition, national tariff, and the NHS contract.
