Chief Finance Officer
Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is one of the biggest and busiest acute NHS trusts in the North West region, with an income of approximately £335 million and more than 6000 employees. We are the largest employer in Wirral and provide a full range of acute healthcare services across the Wirral peninsula.
We are focused on providing exceptional patient and family centred care to the communities we serve. We deliver this through pathways of care which are enabled by innovation and leading-edge technology. Central to our strategic development is the transformation and integration of services locally with the Healthy Wirral Partnership and we have also made some good progress in developing closer collaborative working relationships within the broader Cheshire & Merseyside Health & Care Partnership.
Following significant changes in leadership over the last year, we are building a strong, refreshed Board and we are seeking an engaging Chief Finance Officer to join us at the start of this journey. This is a pivotal time for the Trust and for our health economy. We are making positive progress however we still face significant operational and financial challenges. This role will be pivotal in helping us to achieve our potential.
We are seeking a visible leader, who will bring a recent track record of strong financial stewardship at or near Board level in an acute NHS setting. With an open and transparent style, you will support leaders at all levels to achieve earned autonomy and to deliver financially and clinically sustainable change. A critical position on the Board, you will inspire and build confidence internally and externally; articulating a clear financial strategy that engages our wider health economy. Progressive and dynamic, you will share our ambitions to be continually responsive to the changing needs of our population. Comfortable in working in an evolving environment, most of all you will share our passion for providing high quality care to our patients and creating a supportive environment for our workforce.
