People Participation Lead
An integral part of our Improvement Plan is the introduction of Clinically Led Leadership Teams at a local placed based level ensuring that a positive service user experience is at the centre of everything we do. We need to listen and understand the views of our service users and ensure that this informs clinically evidenced based support.
Our services are provided in partnership with local systems across five locality-based Care Groups in Norfolk and Suffolk, with our specialist services providing trust wide and regional services.

This innovative post focuses on the need to bring strong leadership around the participation of people who use Trust services and Carers to promote improved outcomes for Service Users and improve Service user and Carer experience through new insights and perspectives.
You will work across a Locality Care Group to inform the development and implementation of strategies that support the broad participation agenda, becoming an active contributor to the leadership team, making joint decisions about planning and delivery of services and ensuring that the voice of the Service user and Carer is central to how services are planned and delivered. This will include contributing to organisational strategy development as well as project managing a variety of projects that underpin the participation agenda, ensuring that local participation is coordinated and supports and responds to the Trust’s corporate social inclusion strategies.
You will provide leadership, advice and practical project work across the Care Group in the development of a culture that is socially inclusive and that values participation and diversity. This includes supporting and maintaining effective communication and contributing to improving staff understanding of the importance of participation and co-production, including in staff and service user training. They will also be a role model to other staff for valuing hidden talents from personal lived experience of mental health.
Developing relationships should be a motivator and energiser for you, working with a wide range of stakeholders. The Service User Experience Lead role will have an important part to play in the local delivery of the Trust’s Involvement Strategy and related Action Plans, and including encouraging Trust membership and volunteering
This role will be supported in each Care Group by a Clinical Director, Lead Nurse and Service Director ensuring that decision making is clinically led and made in partnership with local system leaders and the local population. We understand that a one sized model of services across Norfolk and Suffolk doesn’t meet local needs and requirements. To support this leadership team for each care group will be part of local alliance models of care which are currently being developed within local STP’s. The leadership team will be empowered to be responsible and accountable for local decision making and will be supported by reporting directly to the Executive Management Team.
To support you we will provide each Care Group with a bespoke package of development and support. We are embedding a new way of working so you will receive a comprehensive induction you will also receive a personal development plan which will include protected time for your professional development with support from an external coach.
