A large healthcare organisation is looking to appoint a senior Governance and Quality professional, who holds significant experience working in large acute healthcare organisations. 

Main Responsibilities:
Lead on Risk and Assurance, driving the development and implementation of all aspects of work in relation to risk management governance including patient safety, patient experience and clinical effectiveness in line with Circle guidance and acknowledged best practice;
Drive quality improvement and regulatory compliance, ensuring that national best practice is adhered to and regulatory requirements for healthcare governance are fulfilled;
Lead implementation of the risk and quality strategy for the organisation, plans for quality improvement, quality assurance and related organisational learning;
Drive the development and maintenance processes and systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practice including, but not limited to, the Care Quality Commission, NHS Standards of Practice;
Support other Directors in the development of policies and procedures by working with clinical staff and ensuring that agreed policies are implemented and meet the clinical governance requirements for the successful care of patients;
Lead in the development and implementation of clinical practice audits, formulating and updating of policies and procedures and the setting, measuring and evaluation of standards of care and practice;

A successful candidate will have:
  • Registered Nurse (RGN), Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or AHP qualification with at least five years’ experience of clinical practice in a nursing correlated field;
  • Demonstrated Management/leadership experience, significant experience working within a risk/governance role;
  • Expertise in risk/governance systems and processes.
