Cancer is different for young people and we are here to make sure that they have everything and everyone they need to face it.

We often say that teenage cancer brings us together, but it’s our teenage spirit that sets us apart. What that means is we all believe deeply in what we do and why we do it but we also bring an attitude and young-minded drive, energy and passion to our work which makes things happen.

We make a difference through our 28 purpose-built NHS wards and outreach programme, by funding, training and developing Teenage Cancer Trust Nurses and Youth Support Coordinators (now over 100 people), and through our educational activities which empower young people to not only make healthy choices but to advocate for themselves.

We are looking for a new Director of Services to join our Senior Leadership team and provide strategic vision and leadership for the Services Directorate and professionals working within the NHS – Teenage Cancer Trust Nurses, YSCs and MDT Coordinators. You will also engage with stakeholders across the UK and internationally to build on our successful model of care for young people with cancer and continue the positioning of Teenage Cancer Trust as the driving force in improving the treatment, care and outcomes for young people with cancer in the UK and globally.

We need brilliant cross-organisational leaders with stacks of emotional intelligence. All our SLT members need to role model making sure other teams can deliver as well as your own. You will bring substantial experience of aligning and partnering effectively at both a strategic and operational level when it comes to service provision, and senior-level experience of policy and influencing. You will be able to inspire teams to deliver through innovation, agility and change and combine this with a strong understanding of the UK health landscape and a broad understanding of cancer and young people’s issues.  Ultimately, you will be motivated by our mission to help young people facing cancer. If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.
