Job Details

There is an excellent opportunity to join a very successful and long-established nursing home in Sussex. They are looking for a rounded Financial Controller who will have technical and commercial responsibility for all financial functions in the home working alongside the care home administrators and reporting directly to the Finance Director. The reason for the position is they need someone in swiftly whilst they recruit to the permanent post. There will be a good opportunity therefore to apply for the permanent role should you be interested.

The Financial Controller will report to the Finance Director and will enjoy a broad and varied role.

This will include:
  • Taking ownership of the finance function including credit control, sales ledger, purchase ledger and payroll;
  • Leading and managing the reporting and financial accounting process with the support of 2 in house administrators;
  • Developing internal controls and processes;
  • Control of monthly balance sheet and bank reconciliations;
  • Planning and controlling the year end audit;
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual accounts / forecasts / budget process;
  • Taking a lead on the Company’s IT systems and key contracts;
  • Being involved with cash flow planning and bank covenant reporting to banks.
The ideal candidate for the Financial Controller position will be:
  • Fully Qualified - ACA, ACCA or CIMA;
  • strong manager, with the ability to nurture and develop your support staff;
  • Looking for a business they can grow and develop with;
  • A strong, rounded accountant, with good exposure to management reporting and KPIs;
  • Able to thrive in a rapidly changing and growing environment;
  • Social care experience is preferred but not required.
