South London and the Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust

Head of Strategic Planning and Partnerships

Denmark Hill, London

AfC – Band 8c

South London and the Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust provides the widest range of mental health services in the UK, with 4600 staff serving a local population of 1.3 million across 8 boroughs, as well as providing national and international services.

They are a high performing organisation, proud to be rated Good by the CQC and their vision is to improve the lives of the people and communities they serve and to promote mental health and wellbeing for all. Their Changing Lives strategy is at the heart of delivering their mission, and is fully aligned with the aspirations of the NHS 10 year Plan.

We are currently looking for a Head of Strategic Planning to join their enthusiastic, motivated and dynamic Strategy and Commercial Team. Working to the Associate Director of Strategy, in this key senior role you would have the opportunity to shape and influence the delivery of the Changing Lives Strategy both inside and outside of the organisation.

An expert relationship builder, you will have a track record of effectively developing and implementing programme management arrangements for strategic transformation programmes working closely with senior clinical and operational Directors and Senior Management Teams to help turn strategy into reality.

You will also understand that they cannot achieve their strategy alone, and that partnership working within the local systems will be fundamental to their success. Using the same strengths you bring to our internal strategic work, you will relish the opportunity to help develop and implement how they engage key local stakeholders and communities with their strategy, and lead key partnership projects that will turn aspirations into practical, tangible change.

The NHS 10 Year Plan presents the opportunity to significantly improve mental health services for the people served by the trust, and change lives for the better. This role is a unique opportunity to help deliver on that chance at scale and make a difference.

If you think you can help the trust to achieve their vision then we would like to hear from you.
