A large NHS organisation is looking to appoint a Clinical Governance and Risk professional for an initial period of 3 months.

Main Responsibilities:
  • The post holder will be the in-house expert (a Datix Certified Professional) for Datix Web (and Datix Cloud IQ and any future versions of the Datix risk management software) across the organisation for all Datix modules including the incidents, complaints, risk and dashboard modules;
  • Lead and coordinate the systems including configuration, design change, coding, user training and on-going Datix systems usage and support;
  • Ensuring that all staff are adequately trained on the use of the Datix system for effective incident and risk management;
  • Administration and analysis of incidents, risks and claims and to support the development of
  • policies and processes which impact across the organisation to support the creation and maintenance of an effective organisational wide approach;
  • Deliver Datix training as appropriate and support the process for closing of incidents and
  • analysis of incidents across the organisation as necessary;
  • Ensure that appropriate and accurate evidence can be retrieved from the systems and that
  • this is provided to managers in a timely and efficient manner;
  • Effective systems are maintained for the provision of information on governance, risk management and legal activities to provide assurances on the delivery of clinical governance within the organisation.
A successful candidate will have:
  • Datix Web administration & set-up/Searching and Reporting;
  • Experience of using the Datix risk management software including set up, coding and configuration;
  • Collating/evaluating evidence against statutory standards and of maintaining effective monitoring systems to assess compliance;
  • Implementing/maintaining risk management processes and report writing relating to process and performance;
  • Ability to analyse, investigate and resolve complex IM&T (Datix) system queries and can analyse user requirements and recommend solutions which may require configuration of software and hardware and or system redesign;
  • Knowledge of the role of the National bodies such as NHS Improvement, NPSA, Health & Safety Executives and the CQC in relation to patient safety and quality governance within the NHS.
