Job Details
Main Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the effectiveness of professional leadership of nursing within the Division and allocated areas in order to facilitate the delivery of excellent clinical practice;
- Act as a role model within the Division and the Trust ensuring high performance in managerial and clinical practice is both developed and maintained;
- Integrate corporate and professional nursing and midwifery plans with the Divisional clinical service plans;
- Work with senior nurses and midwives across the Trust embed key strategies such as Leading Change;
- Develop a culture and system whereby the Division learns from feedback, evidencing a culture of listening thereby continually improving services;
- Develop and implement a responsive system of learning from incidents and errors, sharing lessons learned and good practice thereby embedding a culture of continual learning to enhance patient care;
- Be an effective leader of change, embedding a culture of continuous quality improvement, innovation and use of technology that meets the changing needs of patients and users – monitoring patient outcomes;
- Ensure strategies are in place to deliver measurable, sustainable improvements in quality and safety in line with local and national nursing and midwifery best practice standards;
- Be a source of professional advice in all areas of responsibility to senior managers and other staff to ensure that they are appropriately informed and supported.
- Current Registration as a Registered Midwife or Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Council;
- Experience of managing a range of departments which includes managing workforce, operational delivery, finance management; Delivering quality improvement projects with defined outcomes;
- Demonstrable experience of developing staff and teams to enhance patient outcomes.
